Answer:

dryer= 1112.5

washer= 1537.5

Step-by-step explanation:

so we will use algebra to solve this by equating the dryer to "x" and washer to "x + 425"

dryer = x

washer = x + x + 425 = 2650

we collect the like terms by adding x + x

2x + 425 = 2650

the 425 crosses the equal sign hence becoming minus

2x = 2650 - 425

2x = 2225

x=2225/2

x = 1112.5

if you rember we uquated the ddyer to x meaning the dryer = 1112.5

meaning the washer = 1112.5 + 425 because of (x + 425) = 1537.5

Make an equation:

x + x + 425 = 2650

Isolate the variable:

2x = 2225

x = 1112.5

Now that we know what X is, we know that X + 425 will equal the cost of the second appliance

1112.50 + 425.00

= 1,537.50

You can generate a hole at x=3 by multiplying by (x - 3/(x - 3) which is undefined at x=3 but otherwise equals 1
You can move the horizontal asymptote up to y=2 by adding 2

y = (x - 3)/((x - 1)(x - 3)) + 2
