Z=5x- 11y
can someone please help
Feliz [49]

Answer:

z+11y/5 = x

Step-by-step explanation:

Since you are solving for x, you want to isolate the variable. You do that by adding 11y to both sides, which cancels out the -11y. From that you should have z+11y = 5x. To cancel out the 5x you need to divide both sides by 5 to get z+11y/5 = x. Hope this helps :)

Every evening Jenna emptied her pocket and put your change in a jar at the end of the week she counts her money one week she had
Lelu [443]

Answer:

Jenna had 25 quarters and 15 dimes.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let Q = the number of quarters and D = the number of dimes.

Then:

1) Q+D = 40 "One week she had 40 coins, all of them dimes and quarters...."

2) 0.25Q+0.1D = $7.75 "...she had a total of $7.75."

Rewrite equation 1) as: D = 40-Q and substitute into equation 2).

2a) 0.25Q+0.1(40-Q) = 7.75 Simplify the left side.

2b) 0.25Q+4-0.1Q = $7.75 Subtract 4 from both sides.

2c) 0.25Q-0.1Q = 3.75 Combine the like-terms on the left side.

2d) 0.15Q = 7.75 Divide both sides by 0.15

2e) Q = 25 and:

D = 40-Q

D = 40-25

D = 15

Jenna had 25 quarters and 15 dimes.

60 students study a language at a school.
nirvana33 [79]

The answer will be that out of 36 boys 24 speak french and 12 speak german and out of 24 girls 16 speak french and 8 speak german.

What is the frequency tree?

In the question we have that there are 60 students in total out of which 36 are boys:

So number of the girls will be = 60-36=24

Now if 2/3 of the boys speak french the number of the boys who speak french will be = (2÷3)x36=24

Now the number of the boys who speak german will be =36-24=12

Now since 40 students study french so we have the number of the boys who speak french is 24. so the number if the girls who speak french will be =40-24=16

Since there are 24 girls in total and out of them 16 speak french so the remaining girls speak german=24-16=8

Hence answer will be that out of 36 boys 24 speak french and 12 speak german and out of 24 girls 16 speak french and 8 speak german.
