Soil profile
Soil profile is the vertical sequence of the layers of soil. Furthermore, there are actually six layers of the soil which involves the organic matter, -where most humus is present-, surface soil, the subsoil, the parent rock, and the bedrock as the innermost and core layer of the soil. In addition each soil layer has three to four soil horizon. These horizons are the physical features of the soil, mainly the texture, color and composition.

How much CaCO3 would have to be decomposed to produce 247 g of CaO
vovangra [49]

441 g CaCO₃ would have to be decomposed to produce 247 g of CaO

<h3>Further explanation</h3>

Reaction

Decomposition of CaCO₃

CaCO₃ ⇒ CaO + CO₂

mass CaO = 247 g

mol of CaO(MW=56 g/mol) :

\tt mol=\dfrac{mass}{MW}\\\\mol=\dfrac{247}{56}\\\\mol=4.41

From equation, mol ratio CaCO₃ : CaO = 1 : 1, so mol CaO :

\tt \dfrac{1}{1}\times 4.41=4.41

mass CaCO₃(MW=100 g/mol) :

\tt mass=mol\times MW\\\\mass=4.41\times 100\\\\mass=441~g

Using the Brønsted-Lowry concept of acids and bases, identify the Brønsted-Lowry acid and base in each of the following reaction
Luden [163]

Answer:

1. HSO³⁻(aq) + H₂O(l) → H₂SO₃(aq) + OH⁻(aq)

<u>The Brønsted-Lowry acid is H₂O and the Brønsted-Lowry base is HSO³⁻</u>

<u />

2. (CH₃)₃N(g) + BCl₃(g) → (CH₃)₃NBCl₃(s)

<u>There are no Brønsted-Lowry acids and bases in this reaction.</u>

Explanation:

According to the Brønsted-Lowry concept, when an acid (HA) and a base (B) undergoes a chemical reaction, the acid (HA) loses a proton and forms its conjugate base (A⁻), whereas the base gains (B) the proton to form its conjugate acid (HB⁺).

<em>The chemical equation for this reaction is:</em>

HA  +  B  ⇌  A⁻  +  HB⁺

Given reactions:

1. HSO³⁻(aq) + H₂O(l) → H₂SO₃(aq) + OH⁻(aq)

<u>The Brønsted-Lowry acid is H₂O and the Brønsted-Lowry base is HSO³⁻</u>

Reason: In this reaction, the acid H₂O loses a proton and forms its conjugate base, OH⁻. Whereas, the base HSO³⁻ gains a proton to form its conjugate acid, H₂SO₃.

2. (CH₃)₃N(g) + BCl₃(g) → (CH₃)₃NBCl₃(s)

<u>There are no Brønsted-Lowry acids and bases in this reaction.</u>

Reason: In this reaction, there is no exchange of proton between the acid and the base.

Anybody know the answer to this
eduard

An atom's mass is determined by its protons and neutrons.

An atom's charge is determined by its number of protons minus it number of electrons.

Atoms become cations, or positively charged when they lose an electron, and since electrons have a negative charge, they become anions, or negatively charged.

Water is a universal solvent.

Carbohydrates (carbs) are used by the body for energy.

Steroids and triglycerides are lipids.

Proteins that catalyze chemical reactions are called enzymes.
