Hey there!!

The equation given = 3x² + 15x - 18 = 0

a = 3

b = 15

c = -18

Quadratic formula =

- b ± √(b² - 4ac ) / 2a

- 15 ± √ ( 225 + 216 ) / 6

-15 ± √ (  441 ) / 6

-15 ±  21 / 6

- 15 + 21 / 6

=  6 / 6 = 1  is one of the answer.

- 15 - 21 / 6

- 36 / 6  = -6 is the second answer.

Answers = 1 and -6

Hope my answer helps!

The Nuthouse offers a mixture of soy nuts and almonds, Almonds
elena55 [62]

Answer:

  14 pounds

Step-by-step explanation:

The given equations can be solved for y by substituting for x. The first equation is convenient for writing x in terms of y.

<h3>Solution</h3>

  x = 20 -y . . . . . . . subtract y from the first equation

  7(20 -y) +5.5y = 119 . . . . . substitute for x in the second equation

  140 -1.5y = 119 . . . . . . . . simplify

  21 = 1.5y . . . . . . . . . . . add 1.5y -119 to both sides

  14 = y . . . . . . . . . . . .divide by 1.5

14 pounds of soy nuts should be used in the mixture.

<em>Additional comment</em>

There are many ways to solve a system of two linear equations. The attachments shows a matrix solution using a suitable calculator. It tells us that x=6 and y=14, as we found above.

Find the volume of a pyramid with a square base, where the perimeter of the base is 7.3\text{ ft}7.3 ft and the height of the py
Cloud [144]

Answer:

V=6.66\ ft^3

Step-by-step explanation:

The perimeter of the square base of a pyramid = 7.3 ft

The height of the pyramid, h = 6ft

The perimeter of a square is given by :

P = 4s, s is the side of square

7.3 = 4s

s = 1.825 ft

The volume of a pyramid is given by :

V=\dfrac{lbh}{3}

Here, l = b = 1.825 ft

So,

V=\dfrac{1.825\times 1.825\times 6}{3}\\\\V=6.66\ ft^3

So, the volume of the pyramid is equal to 6.66\ ft^3.

PLEASE HELP ASAPPP!!!!!!The elevation of city A is 96 feet below sea level; the elevation of city C is 24 feet below sea level.
goblinko [34]
So we know that:
City A is -96ft in elevation
City C is -24ft in elevation
City D is (1/4C)ft in elevation.
So, knowing this we can make an equation: 1/4•-24/1=-24/4=-6
So from that, we get the result of City D being -6ft in elevation, or 6ft below sea level.
