There are 12 inches in 1 foot. You know that the area of a square is or base times hight. A square has the same base and height. So we can say (base)^2. If the base is 12 inches in this case 12^2 = 144. Answer: 144 square inches.

Math help please! Simplify: <br> √(4 + 16 + 16√3 + 12) = 4√(2 + √3)
lozanna [386]

Both sides equal each other. Do you want to know how?

√(4 + 16 + 16√3 + 12) = 4√(2 + √3)

Surd Rule: Numbers with the same surd can be added together. Therefore, all whole integers can be added together.

√(4 + 16 + 16√3 + 12)

√((4 + 16 + 12 )+ 16√3 ) =

√(32 + 16√3)

Simplify by Factorising the common factor - 16

√(32 + 16√3) ÷ 16

√(16 (2 + √3))

Square root 16. This is because it is a not a surd because it is not in it's simplest form.

√16 = 4

√4 (2 + √3)

Henri knows that 1 foot = 0.3 meter. He says that 100 feet is about 3 meters. Is he correct? Explain answer
saveliy_v [14]

Answer:

He is incorrect.

We are changing 1 foot to 100 feet which is a factor of 100.

So, going from .3 meters, we must also increase this by a factor of 100.

.3 meters times 100 equals 30 meters and NOT 3 meters.
