If CUAGCUCGAUAUCUC is a mRNA sequence then the codes are:
CUA - Leucine
GCU - Alanine
CGA - Arginine
 UAU - Tyrosine
CUC – Leucine
This means that the protein synthesized during the translation is going to have a sequence LeuAlaArgTyrLeu.

How does a diversity of organisms increase the chances that some will survive a major change in environment ?
Slav-nsk [51]

Answer:

This can be explained with an example.

Let’s lake an example of two species 1 and 2.

Species 1 has a wide genetic diversity due to which organism are also diverse in phenotype. Their phenotype are:

Black, dark brown, brown, dark red, red, light red, pink, skin color.

From left to right organism are becoming less adapted to high temperature relatively.

For species 2: This species has less genetic diversity and its phenotypic diversity is as follow:

Black, red, Skin color.

From left to right organism are becoming less adapted to high temperature relatively.

Now if there is the sudden high temperature in the environment; 4 Types of phenotype will survive are black, dark brown, brown, dark red.

While there will only two types of organism in specie 2 which will survive are black, red.

So that’s how the diversity of organisms increase the chances that some will survive a major change in environment.

Why are mutations that alter the amino acid sequence usually harmful?
OlgaM077 [116]

Answer:

This probably because they destroy a given character or give rise to a new one.

Explanation:

Alteration here are the permanent changes found in the DNA structure. And are totally inheritable. An example is the case of sickle cell anaemia and haemophilia. People with this anaemia trait hardly live and reproduce even though they do not show ill effects.

Therefore, this mutation alteration is harmful because they destroy a given character.

Since each myofibril is attached at either end of the muscle fiber, when sarcomeres shorten, the muscle fiber
zmey [24]

Answer:

B. Shortens

Explanation:

Myofibrils are components of the animal skeletal muscles that are made up of sacromeres. They perform the muscular contraction and relaxation via the sliding filament model.

To produce motion, A cross-bridge forms between actin and the myosin heads triggering shortening of the sacromere. This shortening of the sacromere results in the contraction of the muscle fibers, which the net effect can be seen to be a shortening of the fibers
