Here's my work:

x=-12+y

-6(-12+y)+2y=28

6*12= 72

72 -6y +2y=28 (now we combine like-terms)

72-4y=28 (now divide by -4)

-18+y=-7 (add 18 to both sides)

y=11

next part we find x:

x=-12+(11)
x=-1
