When ever i have to run for basketball ball we do these exercises beforehand
1. scoops- put one leg put one leg forward and keep it straight. On your
back leg bend it down until your arms can touch the ground. Then with a scooping motion with your hands move your arms up and forward until you're standing straight. up walk forward while you do this
2. dinosaur/soldier kicks- while walking forward lift one leg up to about your hips and then let is fall back to place. then after your first leg goes up swing your other leg backwards and lean down and try to touch the ground. Then resume normal standing position. Do this while moving forward. there is some more but I don't have the time to type them all. Hope this helps!
