ANSWER

The correct answer is A.

EXPLANATION

The given systems of equations are

2f - 5g = - 9 - - (1)

-7f+3g=4 - - (2)

If we multiply the first equation by 7 we get,

14f - 35g = - 63 - - (3)

If we multiply the
- 14f + 6g = 8 - - (4)

Adding equation (3) and (4) gives,

- 31g = - 55
We can see that f has been eliminated from the equation, and hence we can find g and use it to find f.

However, if we multiply the first equation by 3 and the second equation by 5, and then subtract, none of the variables will be eliminated.

Also, if we multiply the first equation by –7 and the second equation by 2, and then add, neither f nor g will be eliminated.

The same thing applies to multiplying the first equation by –3 and the second equation by 5, and then adding will not eliminate any of the variables.

(3c+s)(100-20)/100=100  multiply both sides by 100

(3c+s)80=10000  divide both sides by 80

3c+s=125  subtract 3c from both sides...

s=125-3c....now let's look at the second situation...

(4c+2s)(100-40)/100=120  multiply both sides by 100

60(4c+2s)=12000  divide both sides by 60

4c+2s=200  divide both sides 2

2c+s=100 subtract 2c from both sides

s=100-2c, and from earlier we saw that s=125-3c, since s=s:

100-2c=125-3c  add 3c to both sides

100+c=125  subtract 100 from both sides

c=25, and since s=100-2c

s=50

So cds cost $25.00 and sweatshirts cost $50.00

coldgirl [10]

Answer:

P(\text{Powdered sugar donut})=\dfrac{1}{15} .

Step-by-step explanation:

It is given that Wendy's mother recorded how many donuts she has eaten over the past few months.

Jelly-filled donuts = 6

Maple donuts = 53

Glazed donuts = 11

Powdered sugar donuts = 5

Now,

Total number of donuts = 6 + 53 + 11 + 5 = 75

We need to find the experimental probability that the next donut Wendy eats will be a powdered sugar donut.

P(\text{Powdered sugar donut})=\dfrac{\text{Powdered sugar donuts}}{\text{Total number of donuts}}

P(\text{Powdered sugar donut})=\dfrac{5}{75}

P(\text{Powdered sugar donut})=\dfrac{1}{15}

Therefore, P(\text{Powdered sugar donut})=\dfrac{1}{15}.
