But as the temperature of the reaction is increased, the reacting molecules gains more energy to overcome the energy barriers(activation energy) hence proceeding to form products. In this case, the rate of the reaction depends on the temperature. So an increase in temperature will increase the kinetic energy of the molecules thereby increasing the rate of the reaction and a decrease in temperature will leads to a decrease in the rate of the reaction.
