Answer:

<em>The resonance frequency = 0.978 Hz</em>

Explanation:

Resonance: This is a point in an A.c circuit where the capacitive reactance is equal to the inductive reactance. The frequency at resonance is called<em> Resonance Frequency. Mathematically, </em><em>resonance frequency is expressed as</em>

f₀ = 1/2π√(LC)......................................... Equation 1

Where f₀ = resonance frequency, L = inductance of the inductor, C = capacitance

<em>Given: L = 900 mH = (900/1000) H = 0.9 H, C = 0.014 mF = (0.014/1000) F = 0.000014 F</em>

<em>Constant: π = 3.143</em>

Substituting these values into equation 1

f₀ = 1/2×3.143√(0.9×0.000014)

f₀ = 1/6.286√(0.0000126)

f₀ = 1/6.286×0.00355

f₀ = 1/0.0223

f₀ = 0.978 Hz.

<em>Therefore the resonance frequency = 0.978 Hz</em>

A ball of mass 4.5 kg moving with speed of 2.2 m/s in the +x-direction hits a wall and bounces back with the same speed in the x
Levart [38]

Answer:

The change of the momentum of the ball is -19.8\, \frac{mkg}{s}

Explanation:

We should find \varDelta\overrightarrow{p}=\overrightarrow{p_{f}}-\overrightarrow{p_{i}} (1)with \overrightarrow{p_{i}} the initial momentum and \overrightarrow{p_{f}} the final momentum. Linear momentum is defined as \overrightarrow{p}=m\overrightarrow{v}, using that on (1):

\varDelta\overrightarrow{p}=m \overrightarrow{v_{f}}-m \overrightarrow{v_{i}} (2)

It's important to note that momentum and velocity are vectors and direction matters, so if +x direction is the direction towards the wall and the -x direction away the wall \overrightarrow{v_{i}}=+2.2\, \frac{m}{s} and \overrightarrow{v_{f}}=-2.2\, \frac{m}{s} so (2) becomes:

\varDelta\overrightarrow{p}=m(-2.2- (+2.2))=-(4.5)(4.4)

\varDelta\overrightarrow{p}=-19.8\, \frac{mkg}{s}

13. For an object to appear transparent, what interaction must occur between light waves and the object they hit?
Svetlanka [38]

Answer:

The answer is B

Explanation:

The absorption happens when photons from light hit atoms and molecules, and they vibrate because of that specific interaction. Then the heat ejects from the object in the format of thermal energy.

The speed of water flowing through the 4in diameter section of the piping system is 3ft/s. What is the volume flow rate of water
olga_2 [115]
1 ft =12 in
4 in = 0.333 ft
volume = (п/4)*(0.333)² = 0.087 ft²
vol. flow = spead *volume
              =3 ft/s * 0.087 ft²

vol flow = 0.261 ft³/s

Which observational tool helped astronomers Arno Penzias and Robert Wilson discover the
iren2701 [21]

Answer:

A radio telescope helped the astronomers discover the CMB.

Explanation:

  • Penzias and Wilson while experimenting with a radio telescope in 1964, accidentally discovered the radiation that exists universally also known as the CMB.
  • This was used to support the "Big Bang Theory" and not the "Steady State Theory"
  • CMB is the faint cosmic radiation that fills up the universe. It provides important data for understanding early universe.
  • This data tells us about the composition of the universe and its age which raises new questions about the universe.
