How many grams of calcium nitrate are needed to make 3.30 L of a 0.10 M solution?
ki77a [65]
54.15 g
First you start out with the equation n=cv (n= moles, c=molarity, v= volume)
You’re going to multiply 0.10M by 3.30L to get an answer of 0.33 moles of Ca(NO3)2
From there you’re gonna convert the moles to grams to get your answer, first you have to find the molar mass of Ca(NO3)2
This can be done by finding adding the molar mass of each individual substance
The answer you should get for the molar mass is 164.1 g
From there just multiply the number of moles you calculated (0.33 mol) by the molar mass (164.1 g) and your answer is going to be 54.15 g Ca(NO3)2

Intermolecular forces between particles are
WITCHER [35]

Explanation:

Intermolecular forces hold multiple molecules together and determine many of a substance's properties. All of the attractive forces between neutral atoms and molecules are known as van der Waals forces, although they are usually referred to more informally as intermolecular attraction.

Intermolecular forces are the forces of attraction or repulsion which act between neighboring particles (atoms, molecules, or ions ). These forces are weak compared to the intramolecular forces, such as the covalent or ionic bonds between atoms in a molecule.

Aluminum sulfide : Al₂S₃

ratio cation : anion = 2 : 3

Further explanation

Given

Compound of Aluminium

Required

cations anions ratio

Solution

Salt can be formed from cations and anions which have their respective charges.

In the chemical compound formula these charges are crossed with each other

For aluminum it has a +3 charge

1. Aluminum carbide : Al₄C₃

ratio cation : anion = 4 : 3

2. Aluminum chloride : AlCl₃

ratio cation : anion = 1 : 3

3. Aluminum sulfide : Al₂S₃

ratio cation : anion = 2 : 3

4. Aluminum nitride : AlN

ratio cation : anion = 1 : 1

A 1 liter solution contains 0.247 M nitrous acid and 0.329 M sodium nitrite. Addition of 0.271 moles of calcium hydroxide will:
Inessa05 [86]

Answer:

a. Raise the pH slightly

Explanation:

We know that

Pka of HNO2/KNO2 =3.39

Moles of HNO2 in the buffer=0.247 mol/L×1L=0.247 moles

Moles of NO2-=0.329mol/L×1L=0.329 moles

If 0.271 moles of Ca(OH)2 is added it will neutralise 0.136 moles of acid ,HNO2,remaining HNO2=0.247-0.136=0.111 moles

Moles of NO2- will increase as 0.0333 moles Ca(NO)2 will be formed =0.0333+0.036=0.0693 moles

pH=pka+log [base]/[acid]      {henderson -hasselbach equation}

=3.39+log (0.0693/0.0317)=3.39+0.34=3.73

pH=3.73

What is the mass of H2O produced when 14.0 grams of H2 reacts completely with 2.0 grams of O2?
Vladimir79 [104]
Balanced chemical equation:

2 H2 + 1 O2 = 2 H2O

4 g H2  -------> 32 g O2 -----------> 36 g H2O
   ↓                       ↓                             ↓
14.0 g ---------> 2.0 g O2 ----------> mass H2O ?

32 * mass H2O = 2.0 * 36

32 * mass H2O = 72

mass of H2O = 72 / 32

mass of H2O = 2.25 g

hope this helps!.
