$a {}^{2} + b {}^{2} = c {}^{2} \\ a {}^{2} = c {}^{2} - b {}^{2} \\ a = \sqrt{c {}^{2} - b {}^{2} } \\ a = \sqrt{6 ^{2} - 4 {}^{2} } = 4.47$
and because x=2a
$x = 2a \\ x = 2 \times 4.47 = 8.94$
