Tan(x)= sin(x)/cos(x), therefore, substitute sin(x)/cos(x) in the expression:
=(cos(x)(sin(x)/cos(x))-1)/cos^2(x)
simplify the 2 cos(x):
=(sin(x)-1)/cos^2(x)
Sin^2(x)+ cos^2(x)=1, sin^2(x)-1=- cos^2(x), substitute in the expression:
= -cos^2(x)/cos^2(x)= -1

What do you notice about all fractions that are equivalent to 2? Explain and give an example
Papessa [141]
The numerator is twice as big as the denominator.

Here are some examples:  10/5  8/4   12/6   20/10  300/150

All of these fractions reduce to just 2. If you look at these fractions, you will see that the numerator is twice as big as the denominator.

Shahid is going to use these instructions to make a fizzy drink.
11Alexandr11 [23.1K]

Answer:

The greatest amount of fizzy drink he can make is 420 ml

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

The ratio of the parts of orange juice to parts of lemonade is

\frac{5}{2}

so

using proportion

Find out the milliliters of lemonade needed to make fizzy drink with 300 ml of  orange juice

Let

x -----> milliliters of lemonade needed

\frac{5}{2}=\frac{300}{x}\\\\x=300*2/5\\\\x=120\ ml

<em>Find the greatest amount of fizzy drink he can make</em>

Adds the milliliters of lemonade plus the milliliters of orange juice

120+300=420\ ml

therefore

The greatest amount of fizzy drink he can make is 420 ml
