Tan(x)= sin(x)/cos(x), therefore, substitute sin(x)/cos(x) in the expression:
=(cos(x)(sin(x)/cos(x))-1)/cos^2(x)
simplify the 2 cos(x):
=(sin(x)-1)/cos^2(x)
Sin^2(x)+ cos^2(x)=1, sin^2(x)-1=- cos^2(x), substitute in the expression:
= -cos^2(x)/cos^2(x)= -1

What is A number divided by 82
lara [203]

Answer:

Hey there, Lets solve this step by step.

A number t divided by 82

Let the number be represented by y.

t divided by 82 = t / 8

Therefore-

In algebraic expressions, "y" is normally used as the dependent variable and "x" is normally used as the independent variable, instead of other variables. So that is why i used the variable y in the equation.

determina la medida de cada uno de los angulos del triángulo ABC si se conoce que (3x+1)° (3x+4)° y (2x-1)°
Triss [41]

Answer:

∠A=67°

∠B=70°

∠C=43°

Step-by-step explanation:

The correct question in English is

Determines the measurement of each of the angles of the triangle ABC if it is known that A=(3x+1)°,B=(3x+4)° and C=(2x-1)°.

we know that

The measure of the interior angles in a triangle must be equal to 180 degrees

so

∠A+∠B+∠C=180°

substitute the given values

(3x+1)\°+(3x+4)\°+(2x-1)\°=180\°

solve for x

(8x+4)\°=180\°

8x=180-4

x=22

Find the measure of each angle

∠A=(3(22)+1)=67°

∠B=(3(22)+4)=70°

∠C=(2(22)-1)=43°

Mary weighs n kg while her sister weighs 15 kg less. How many times is Mary heavier than her sister?
kari74 [83]

Answer:

Mary is \frac{n}{n-15} times heavier than her sister

Step-by-step explanation:

Mary's Weight = n

Sister's Weight = n - 15

To find how many times mary is heavier, we need to multiply "that many time" [let it be x] with sister's weight to get Mary's weight.

e.g. If someone weighs 100 and another person 50, 50 * 2 = 100, thus, 100 kg person is 2 times heaving. We do same for this:

(n - 15) * x = n

x = n/(n - 15)
