Two wheels have the same mass and radius of 4.4 kg and 0.48 m, respectively. One has (a) the shape of a hoop and the other (b) t
abruzzese [7]

Answer:

1) \sum T_{externalhoop}=0.4418Nm

2) \sum T_{externaldisc}=0.2209Nm

Explanation:

Using the second equation of angular motion we have

\theta =\omega _{o}t+\frac{1}{2}\alpha t^{2}

Since the wheels start from rest we ahve omega _{o}=0

Applying the given values in the equation we have

14=\frac{1}{2}\alpha \times 8^{2}\\\\\therefore \alpha =\frac{28}{64}=0.4375rad/s^{2}

Now by newton's second law of motion in angular motion we have

\sum T_{external}=I\alpha

1) For Hoop We have

I_{hoop}=Mr^{2}\\\\\therefore I_{hoop}=4.4\times(0.48)^{2}=1.01376kgm^{2}

Thus

\sum T_{external}=1.01376\times 0.4375

\sum T_{external}=0.4418Nm

2)For disc We have

I_{disc}=\frac{Mr^{2}}{2}\\\\\therefore I_{hoop}=2.2\times(0.48)^{2}=0.506kgm^{2}

Thus

\sum T_{external}=0.506\times 0.4375

\sum T_{external}=0.2209Nm

What is the difference between the number of electrons in an atom of selenium,se, and the number of electrons in an atom of alum
Daniel [21]

Selenium has 36 electrons34(atomic number) + 2(amount of electrons gained in the <span>ion, has a 2- charge) = 36
</span>To identify the number of electrons an element has, all you need is a periodic table. Identify the atomic number (the smallest of the 2 numbers in the box). That number will be the number of protons which is also the number of electrons.
*number Atoms of all elements are made up of three primary particles: protons, neutrons, and electrons. The "sub-atomic" particles each have specific properties that such as size, electrical charge, etc. that are crucial for the stability of the atom. The particles break down like this: Particle Relative size Charge Location How to determine

Proton 1 + in the nucleus # of protons= element's atomic # (use periodic table)

Electron 0 - outside nucleus # of electrons=# of protons(in neutral, "normal" atom)

Neutron 1 0 in the nucleus Must be told or given (ie. can vary--isotopes--

for small elements most common form often

consists of isotope where #protons=#neutrons) Aluminum has 13 electrons because it needs 13 negative charges to balance the 13 postively-charged protons (which is what the periodic table told us it contains). This will make the Aluminum atom electrically neutral.

A 2.7-kg ball is thrown upward with an initial speed of 20.0 m/s from the edge of a 45.0-m-high cliff. At the instant the ball i
sveticcg [70]

Answer:

a) 72.54°  and  It will take the woman 33.4m

Explanation:

The woman runs with a constant speed V1 = 6m/s

V2 = 20m/s

V1 = V2 cos θ

Cos θ= V1/V2= 6/20

Cos θ= 0.3

Cos^-1 0.3=72.54°

Using Range formular for projectile

R= (V2 Cos θ)/g (V2 Sin θ)^2 +sqrt(V2 Sin θ)^2 + 2gh)

R= (20cos72.54)(2Sin72.54+sqrt(20Sin72.54)^2 + 2×9.8×45

R=33.4m

The line models the cost of renting a bike. It costs $3 per hour plus a $4 deposit. Write an equation in slope-intercept form
skad [1K]

Answer:

y=($3/1h)x+$4, it costs $19 to rent the bike for 5 hours.

Explanation:

An equation in slope-intercept form is y=m*x+n. In this case y would be the cost of rent, while x is the time. We need to determine m and n.

At the very beginning, x=0h (h is hours), the cost of rent is the deposit, so we know that $4=m*0h+n=n. Then we know that the cost of rent must increase by $3 with each hour, which means that the slope is m=$3/1h. Another way of getting this value would be to think on a particular case: after 1 hour, the cost of rent should be the deposit plus an hour of rent, or $7, so it should happen that <em>$7</em>=m*<em>1h</em>+$4 (where the $4 we already know is the value of n, and the numbers in italics are the values for the particular case we are looking for), from where we get that m*1h=$3, so m=$3/1h (the same result as before).

Putting all together, we have y=($3/1h)x+$4, and for 5 hours we get y=($3/1h)(5h)+$4
