0.15

Explanation:

Given parameters:

Mass of bookcase = 41kg

Force applied = 65N

Acceleration = 0.12m/s²

Unknown:

Coefficient of kinetic friction between the bookcase and carpet = ?

Solution:

To solve this problem, the forces acting on the bookcase are;

frictional force

 net force

  applied force

  weight

 F - f_{r} = ma   in the horizontal direction ----- i

F is the applied force

f_{r} is frictional force

m is the mass

 a is the acceleration

ma is the net force

In the vertical axis:

 R = mg

R is the normal reaction

 mg is the weight of the body

f_{r} = μN = μmg , put into equation i

F - μmg  = ma

μ is the coefficient of friction

input the variables;

 65 - μ(41 x 9.8) = 41 x 0.12

65 - 401.8μ = 4.92

  - 401.8μ  = 4.92 - 65

  - 401.8μ  = -60.1

       μ = \frac{60.1}{401.8} = 0.15

gogolik [260]

Answer:

C. dismiss them.

Explanation:

The American Psychological Association is a scientific organization and it serves as an umbrella body for the professional psychologists practicing in the United States of America. This professional organization was founded by Granville Stanley Hall in July, 1892 and it has become the largest professional body with over 120,000 members such as scientists, consultants, clinicians, educators etc.

Basically, the American Psychological Association is saddled with the responsibility of providing professional certifications to psychologists and assisting in the advancement of human well-being.

If a psychologist violates his or her ethical obligations but breaks no laws, the American Psychological Association could take action and dismiss or censure them. This is done so as to serve as deterrent to other psychologists and to help maintain the core values, objectives and mission of the professional organization.
