the mass of a brick is 4 kg, find the mass of water displaced by it when completely immersed in water.

Physics

Answer:

The correct answer is = 1.6

Explanation:

Density of water = 1000kg/m³ = d₁

Mass of brick = 4kg = m

Density of brick = 2.5 g/cm³ = 2.5 × 1000 =2500 kg/m³ = d₂

Volume of brick = m/d₂ = 4/2500 =16/10000 = 0.0016 L = v

Buoyant Force = v × d₁ × g          (g= acceleration due to gravity =9.8m/s²)

= 0.0016 × 1000 × 9.8 = 15.68 Newtons

By the Archimedes' Principle, the buoyant force is equal to the weight of the liquid displaced by an object.

Weight of the water displaced=Buoyant Force

=Mass of water displaced × g,

as weight = mass × acceleration due to gravity

15.68= mass of brick × 9.8

15.68/9.8 =Mass of water displaced

1.6 kg = Mass of water displaced

Why is the study of black holes important?
mariarad [96]
It's important because first, we might be able to understand further with how gravity works. And if we can harness the power that black hole possesses, which pulls everything in, then we might be able to use that power for a huge amount of energy, thus possibly replacing solar energy, fossil fuels, etc.,.

What is the acceleration of this object? The object's mass is 60 kg.
slamgirl [31]
We know, F = m*a
Here, F = 600-400 = 200 N downwards
m = 60 Kg

Substitute their values,
a = 200/60
a = 20/6
a = 10/3
a = 3.33 m/s² downwards

In short, Your Answer would be 3.33 m/s² downwards

Hope this helps!

A 1100 kg car pushes a 1800 kg truck that has a dead battery. When the driver steps on the accelerator, the drive wheels of the
12345 [234]

Answer:The answer is 3000 N.

Force (F) is the multiplication of mass (m) and acceleration (a).

F = m · a

It is given:

mc = 1000 kg

mt = 2000 kg

total force: F = 4500 N

total mass: m = mc + mt

Let's calculate acceleration which is common:

a = F/m = F/(mc + mt) = 4500/(1000 + 2000) = 4500/3000 = 1.5 m/s²

Now, when we know acceleration, let's calculate force on the truck:

Ft = mt · a = 2000 · 1.5 = 3000 N

It takes 185 kj of work to accelerate a car from 23.0 m/s to 28.0 m/s. what is the car's mass?
Pachacha [2.7K]
This question is based on conservation of energy as the work done would lead to change in kinetice energy of car change in KE = 1/2 mv(f)^2 - 1/2mv(i)^2 = 1/2m(v(f)^2-v(i)^2) where v(f) and v(i) are the final and initial speeds change in KE = 185kJ = 185,000J = 1/2 m((28m/s)^2-(23m/s)^2) 185,000=1/2 m(255m^2/s^2) solving for m m=1451kg

A football is thrown due north across a 40 meter river and it takes 2 seconds to cover that distance.
Alexxx [7]

Answer:

I. Speed = 20m/s

II. Velocity = 20m/s due North.

Explanation:

Given the following data;

Distance = 40m

Time = 2secs

To find the speed;

Mathematically, speed is given by the formula;

Speed = \frac{distance}{time}

Substituting into the equation, we have;

Speed = \frac{40}{2}

Speed = 20m/s.

In physics, we use the same formula for calculating speed and velocity. The only difference is that speed is a scalar quantity and as such has magnitude but no direction while velocity is a vector quantity and as such it has both magnitude and direction.

Velocity = \frac{distance}{time}

Therefore, the velocity is 20m/s due North.
