Watson conducted several psychological researches and pointed out that psychology should favor objective observation and measurement, and then reject consciousness, because if consciousness was the core focus of psychology, having introspection as its technique, the study of mentally-challenged persons, infants and animals should be removed from the science of psychology. Their exclusion is important since they can either do proper introspection or their introspection could not be trusted.
