Suppose you sound a 1056-hertz tuning fork at the same time you strike a note on the piano and hear 2 beats/second. You tighten

the piano string very slightly and now hear 3 beats/second. What is the frequency of the piano string?

Answer:

The frequency of the piano string is either 1053 HZ or 1059 HZ.

Explanation:

Here we know that frequency of beats is equal to the difference between the frequencies between two waves .

     Given that frequency of tuning fork is 1056 HZ  .

     Let the frequency of the piano be ' f ' .

   Given that number of beats = 3.

    We know that   | 1056 - f | = 3 ;

                      ⇒       1056- f = ±3,

         Upon solving this we get

                        f = 1056-3 and 1056 + 3

                   ⇒ f = 1053 or 1059 .

A car with a velocity of 6.4 m/s, forward, accelerates to a velocity of 10.6 m/s, forward, in 16 s. What is the card acceleratio
tatuchka [14]

Answer:

acceleration = 0.2625 m/s²

Explanation:

   acceleration = ( final velocity - initial velocity ) / time

Here the final velocity is  10.6 m/s and initial velocity is 6.4 m/s and time is 16 s.

using the equation:

acceleration =  ( 10.6 - 6.4 ) / 16

                     = 0.2625 m/s²

Why was miasma theory replaced?
GaryK [48]
In the mid of the 19th century the miasma theory was replaced by the germ theory of diseases (Maia 2013) The Greek physician Hippocrates (c.460- 377 B.C.E) believed that bad air could be the cause of any pestilences, the fatal epidemic.

Hope that helps!

What are three ways to speed up a<br> reaction?
Ksju [112]

Explanation:

Increase the temperature in Endothermic reactions (Reactions that absorb energy, or become cold) Decrease the temperature in Exothermic reactions (Reactions that release energy, or become hot) Add a catalyst (A substance that reduces activation energy, speeding up the reaction) Increase the concentration of reactants.

A double-slit experiment yields an interference pattern due to the path length difference from light traveling through one slit
Lapatulllka [165]

Answer:

Therefore the correct statement is B.

Explanation:

In the interference and diffraction phenomena, the natural wave of electromagnetic radiation must be taken into account, the wave front that advances towards the slit can be considered as when it reaches it behaves like a series of wave emitters, each slightly out of phase from the previous one, following the Huygens principle that states that each point is compiled as a source of secondary waves.

The sum of all these waves results in the diffraction curve of the slit that has the shape

      I = Io sin² θ /θ²

Where the angle is a function of the wavelength and the width of the slit.

From the above, the interference phenomenon can be treated as the sum of two diffraction phenomena displaced a distance equal to the separation of the slits (d)

Therefore the correct statement is B
