Answer:

The basic principle on which the electric iron works is that when a current is passed through a piece of wire, the wire heats up. This heat is distributed to the sole (base) plate of the electric iron through conduction.

A 20N force pulls to the right and friction pulls 5N.<br> If the mass is 5kg, find the acceleration
torisob [31]
So obviously the 20N pulls more than the 5N. Friction opposes direction of motion, so the 5N opposes the 20N and the two forces are against each other.

Net force would be in the direction of the 20N force: 20N - 5N = 15N.

Force = mass*acceleration
15 = (5)*acceleration
acceleration = 3m/s^2

Hooke's law states that the force, F, in a spring extended by a length x is given by
timofeeve [1]

Answer:

dimensions of k are  kg / s^2

Explanation:

F=ma   (Newton's second law)

F=-kx   (Hooke's law)

so equate both

-kx = ma

k = -ma/x

= mass * acceleration / distance  (dimensions, -1 has no dimension)

= kg * m/s^2 / m

= kg / s^2
