What happens to the force of attraction between two planets when the masses of both are doubled?
daser333 [38]
So as two objects are separated from each other, the force of gravitational attraction between them also decrease. if the separation distance between 2 objects is doubled (increased by a factor of 2), then the force of gravitational attraction is decreased by a factor of 4 (2 raised to the second power).

Hope this helps :)

Calculate the magnitude of the normal force acting on a 20 kg block the block is resting on the surface of an elevator accelera
wlad13 [49]

Answer:

Fn = 246.2 N

Explanation:

I assume you meant meters per second squared for acceleration of the elevator.  All you have to after your picture/free-body diagram is made is add the forces together.  You could do this by finding them separately like I did or use Fn = m(Fg + Fe). I just calculated magnitude and didn't worry about signs.
