Answer: For the shade plants, the mean is twice as large as its range. For the sun plants, the mean is 4.4 times larger than its range.

First, calculate the mean for both. You have to add up all the values and then divide by the number of values (8).

For the shade, you get 10. For the sun, you get 22.

Now, subtract the highest and lowest in each to get the range.

For the shade, you get 5. For the sun, you get 5.

Just divide the mean by the range and you will get the factors of 2 and 4.4.

<h2>Answer:</h2>

Hence, the difference in mean is represented as:

                         12=2.5×5

where 5 is the range and 12 is the difference in the mean.

<h2>Step-by-step explanation:</h2>

<u>Shade plant Height (in.)</u>

7    11     11      12      9      12      8     10

Minimum value=7

and Maximum value=12

Range=Maximum value-Minimum value

This means that Range is: 12-7=5

Also, the mean is calculated as follows:

Mean=\dfrac{7+11+11+12+9+12+8+10}{8}\\\\\\Mean=\dfrac{80}{8}\\\\\\Mean=10

<u>Sun Plant heights (in.)</u>

21    24    19    19     22    23    24    24

Minimum value=19

and Maximum value=24

Range=Maximum value-Minimum value

This means that Range is: 24-19=5

Also, the mean is calculated as follows:

Mean=\dfrac{21+24+19+19+22+23+24+24}{8}\\\\\\Mean=\dfrac{176}{8}\\\\\\Mean=22

Difference in mean is: 22-10=12

Also, the range of both the set is:  5

Hence, the difference in mean could be expressed as:

       12=5×n

Hence, n=2.5

AleksandrR [38]

Answer:

 \frac{16r^3}{3}

Step-by-step explanation:

In this cross sections problem, we can integrate from -r to +r (so that the integral covers the entire base of the solid).

\int\limits^r_a {2(x^2+r^2 )} \, dx

The formatting for the integral did not let me put -r on the lower bound, so i replaced it with a, just know that a represents -r here.

Evaluating the integral gives use that it is equal to;

\frac{16r^3}{3}

Caution: this answer may not meet your needs, but this is the answer I have come up with with the given information.
