Answer:

6 apples and 5 bananas

Step-by-step explanation:

x + y = 11

x = 11 - y

1.75x + 0.70y = 14

1.75(11 - y) + 0.7y = 14

19.25 - 1.75y + 0.7y = 14

5.25 = 1.05y

y = 5

x = 11 - 5 = 6

Could a polyhedron exist with the given number of faces, vertices, and edges? Drag yes or no to each combination
DanielleElmas [232]

Answer:

(a) No

(b) No

(c) No

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

See attachment

Required

Select Yes or No for each

To do this, we make use of Euler's formula

F + V - E = 2

Where

F \to Faces; V \to Vertices; E \to Edges

(a):\ Faces = 8; Vertices = 12; Edges = 6

Using: F + V - E = 2

8 + 12 - 6 = 2

14 = 2

The above equality is false. Hence, (a) does not exist

(b):\ Faces = 6; Vertices = 6; Edges = 4

Using: F + V - E = 2

6 + 6 - 4 = 2

8 = 2

The above equality is false. Hence, (b) does not exist

(c):\ Faces = 20; Vertices = 30; Edges = 12

Using: F + V - E = 2

20 + 30 - 12 = 2

38 = 2

The above equality is false. Hence, (c) does not exist

1. Use the Law of Levers to solve the problem, x1y1=x2y2.
Mademuasel [1]
1) Never heard of someone referring to the Law of Levers before, must be showing my age. A system as you describe is at equilibrium when the net torque is equal to zero. Since torque is Fr=mgr so for this system we have a sum of:

27g*10+30g*x=0 The sum must be zero to be at equilibrium, dividing both sides by g you have:

270+30x=0

270=-30x

x=-9

The negative just indicates that the magnitude of 9 is on the opposite side of the fulcrum, so x=9ft in magnitude.

2) Inverse variation is of the form y=k/x, in this case we are given a point so we can solve for the constant, k, of variation...

y=k/x, and we are given y=-12 when x=5 so

-12=k/5

k=-60 so the equation is:

y=-60/x which can be expressed as

xy=-60

Find m ABC (2x) (5x+5)
Paladinen [302]

Answer:

=130

Step-by-step explanation:

(2x) (5x+5) = 180

7x + 5 = 180

7x = 175

x = 25

5(25) + 5 = 125 + 5 = 130

Hope this helps (:
