A person charged with DUI is often viewed by society as reckless and selfish. The record of the offense stays on their driving record forever, except it is expunged.

EXPLANATION:

• Negative side having a DUI record

Having a DUI on your driving record is such a loss. You might lose your job, get higher insurance premiums, and live in a discipline regulation because your background will be checked. In short, DUI is disgrace which worsens your background. Not to mention that DUI record will be last forever in your driving record.

• DUI expungement

Although DUI might be last forever in your driving record, there is a rule called ‘expungement’ to legally erase your DUI. Legally speaking, getting erased the ‘stain’ from driving record is called ‘expunging’. But, not all of the states in the USA apply this rule. You only remove DUI record in your driving record in Arizona. States such as Texas and Mississippi don’t allow their citizen to erase DUI from the driving record.

Beside legally erasing it, you can take another way to remove it from your driving record. You could take probation or make a petition for an expungement. Nevertheless, you have to wait until a certain time to do this thing. To get an expungement, you might wait at least a year after you get DUI.
