So your starting amount is 5. Your equation will start like this:
5+
Now 45 dollars a week. So no matter how many weeks you are going to multiply it by 45. So you add that in and you have an equation that looks like this:
5+45x
X stands for the weeks. Then finish it off with your equals:
5+45x=y
Y is the total amount of money.
The Equation will be.
5+45x=y

Part 2:

The equation is set up on weeks so you need to find out how many weeks 28 days is.
28/7=4

Now that you know that you can substitute 4 for x.

5+45*4=y
5+180=y
185=y
He will have 185 dollars in his bank. <span />

A teacher writes the function f(x)=3x^2-18x+27 on the board. How many times does the graph of the teacher's function intersect t
Oduvanchick [21]

Answer:

Once. at (3,0)

Step-by-step explanation:

It is handy to have a graphing calculator for this kind of question.

Otherwise work it out.

All the terms are multiples of 3, so simplify.3(x^{2} -6x + 9)

then factor (x -3)(x-3)

Set each equal to 0 and solve for x.

x - 3 = 0    x = 3

OH ! they are identical! So there is only One value for x that will produce an output of 0.

So it intersects (touches) only once.

A statue is mounted on top of a 21 foot hill. From the base of the hill to where you are standing is 57feet and the statue subte
AleksandrR [38]

Please find the attached diagram for a better understanding of the question.

As we can see from the diagram,

RQ = 21 feet = height of the hill

PQ = 57 feet = Distance between you and the base of the hill

SR= h=height of the statue

\angle SPR=Angle subtended by the statue to where you are standing.

\angle x=\angle RPQ= which is unknown.

Let us begin solving now. The first step is to find the angle \angle x which can be found by using the following trigonometric ratio in \Delta PQR :

tan(x)=\frac{RQ}{PQ} =\frac{21}{57}

Which gives \angle x to be:

\angle x=tan^{-1}(\frac{21}{57})\approx20.22^{0}

Now, we know that\angle x and \angle SPR can be added to give us the complete angle \angle SPQ in the right triangle \Delta SPQ.

We can again use the tan trigonometric ratio in \Delta SPQ to solve for the height of the statue, h.

This can be done as:

tan(\angle SPQ)=\frac{SQ}{PQ}

tan(7.1^0+20.22^0)=\frac{SR+RQ}{PQ}

tan(27.32^0)=\frac{h+21}{57}

\therefore h+21=57tan(27.32^0)

h\approx8.45 ft

Thus, the height of the statue is approximately, 8.45 feet.
