Jon can skate for 5 hours.

Jon has to pay $9 for admission and $2 for skates for the first hour. This means so far he has paid $11. Now u have to add $2 for each hour that he skates. Remember, he only had $19 so u would stop adding $2 until u hit $19. After you keep adding $2 for every hour, you would end up with 5 hours.

Here is some work:

(1hr) 9+2=11
(2hr) 11+2=13
(3hr) 13+2=15
(4hr) 15+2=17
(5hr) 17+2=19

This means that Jon can skate for 5 hours if he has $19.

Hope this helped you understand!!

7m + 3mn when m = 8 and n = 14
Kazeer [188]

Answer:

392

Step-by-step explanation:

m = 8 and n = 14

Substituting the values of m and n in the question, we get :

7m + 3mn

=( 7 x 8) +(3 x 8 x 14)

= 56 + 336

= 392

Suppose we have a binomial experiment in which success is defined to be a particular quality or attribute that interests us.
mestny [16]

For a binomial experiment in which success is defined to be a particular quality or attribute that interests us, with n=36 and p as 0.23,  we can approximate p hat by a normal distribution.

Since n=36 , p=0.23 , thus q= 1-p = 1-0.23=0.77

therefore,

n*p= 36*0.23 =8.28>5

n*q = 36*0.77=27.22>5

and therefore, p hat can be approximated by a normal random variable, because n*p>5 and n*q>5.

The question is incomplete, a possible complete question is:

Suppose we have a binomial experiment in which success is defined to be a particular quality or attribute that interests us.

Suppose n = 36 and p = 0.23. Can we approximate p hat by a normal distribution? Why? (Use 2 decimal places.)

n*p = ?

n*q = ?

A train has 6 identical passenger cars that are each 18 m long.
Gnesinka [82]

Answer:

59m

Step-by-step explanation:

No of passenger cars in the train = 6

length of each passenger cars = 18m

total length of 6 passenger cars = 18 * 6 = 108 m

length of caboose = 10m

total length of train when caboose is included = 108 m + 10 m = 118m

_____________________________________________

Let the length of truck be X m

given that length of train is twice of length of truck = 2*X

but length of train as found above is 118 m

this implies

2X = 118

X = 118/2 = 59m

Therefore length of truck is 59m
