BASEBALL IN SPACE baseball in space You are observing a baseball in space, with mass m = 0.145 kg. It is moving past your spacec

raft with speed v = 22.9 m/sec, to the north. Your Acme Tractor Beam can exert 1.3 Newtons of pull force on that baseball. CALCULATE: How long will it take your Acme Tractor Beam to slow down the baseball to a stop? Enter the numeric part of your answer, to the nearest hundredth of a second, i.e., 0.01 sec. E.g., if your answer is 60.5329 sec, then type in 60.53 in the answer box.

Answer:

It takes 2.55 sec

Explanation:

First we need to find the aceleration with this equation:

F = m*a

a = \frac{F}{m}

Where:   F = 1.3 Newtons

              m = 0.145 kg

Then      a = \frac{1.3 Newtons}{0.145 kg}

              a = 8.9655 m/sec^{2}

Now we are ready to calculate the time with the next equation:

V_{f} = V_{o} + a*t

V_{f} - V_{o} = a*t

t = \frac{V_{f} - V_{o}}{a}

Where:   V_{o} = 22.9 m/sec   (at the beginning)

              V_{f} = 0 m/sec   (at the end because it stops)

We must use a = - 8.9655 m/sec^{2}   because in this case speed is decreasing

Finally:   t = \frac{0 m/sec - 22.9 m/sec}{- 8.9655 m/sec^{2} }

              t = 2.55 sec

Answer:

I belive that the 2000 kg will be going faster then the 1000kg

Explanation:

Because it is 2x as heavy as the other car which means it most likely would hit the car and keep going because it can hit it so hard that the car dosent hit effected

Scientists have changed the model of the atom as they have gathered new evidence. One of the atomic models is shown below.
yawa3891 [41]

Answer:

B: The colors of light emitted from heated atoms had very specific energies.

Explanation:

In Thompson's model of an atom the atom is said to be constituted of electrons which are surrounded by a haze of positive charge in order to balance the electrons' negative charges. It is also called plum prodding model because of negatively charged plums which are surrounded by the positively charged pudding.

Now, as the electrons move from higher to lower energy levels a photon which is a particle of light will be given off.

Thus, the correct answer is option B

Which of the following is considered a calm area close to the equator resulting in little to no wind?
solong [7]
<h2>Right answer: Doldrums</h2>

These are also called zones of equatorial calm and it is due a climatic phenomenon that is placed near the Earth equator, attributed to the soft winds, that are called calm winds as well; accompanied by systems of abundant rains and heat.

In this area periods of great calm occur when the winds virtually disappear completely, trapping the sailing ships for long periods (days or weeks). This is why the term <em>doldrum</em> became popular as a colloquial expression in the eighteenth century, to refer to "<em>the caprice of the wind that slows down the navigation to sail". </em>

The zone is located in the place where two trade winds meet, this means the trade winds of the northern hemisphere <u>converge</u> with those of the southern hemisphere, that is why this region is related to the <u>intertropical convergence zone</u>.

The moon has a mass of 7.35x1022 kg and is a lot farther away than is shown in textbooks. The mass of the
anyanavicka [17]

Answer:

F=1.98\times 10^{20}\ N

Explanation:

Given that,

The mass of a Moon, M_m=7.35\times 10^{22}\ kg

The mass of the Earth, M_e=5.98\times 10^{24}\ kg

The moon's mean orbit distance around the earth is, r=3.84\times 10^8\ m

We need to find the gravitational force exerted on the moon by the Earth.

The formula of gravitational force is given by :

F=G\dfrac{M_mM_e}{r^2}\\\\F=6.67\times 10^{-11}\times \dfrac{7.35\times 10^{22}\times 5.98\times 10^{24}}{(3.84\times 10^8)^2}\\\\F=1.98\times 10^{20}\ N

So, the required force is 1.98\times 10^{20}\ N.
