Jamal is making two paintings using canvases that are similar rectangles. The length of the smaller canvas is 3 ft and the width
Alex787 [66]
Let's start with what we know:

Smaller canvas:
Length (L_{1}) = 3ft
Width (W_{1}) = 5ft

Larger canvas:
Length (L_{2}) = ?
Width (W_{2}) = 10ft

Since these are similar rectangles, we can cross-multiply to calculate the missing length. Here's that formula:

\frac{ L_{1} }{ L_{2} } =  \frac{ W_{1} }{ W_{2} }
So let's plug it all in from above:

\frac{ 3 }{ L_{2} } = \frac{ 5 }{ 10 }
Now we cross multiply by multiplying the top-left by the bottom-right and vice versa:

(3)(10) = (5)(L_{2})
30 = 5L_{2}
Now divide each side by 5 to isolate L_{2}

\frac{30}{5} =  \frac{ 5L_{2}}{5}
The 5s on the right cancel out, leaving us with:

6 =  L_{2}

So the length of the larger canvas is 6 ft

I dont understand this question, and needs to be done by tomorrow morning please help

Answer:

ABCD and EFGH

ABCD and PQRS (or EFGH and PQRS)

Dilate by a scale factor of 3

Step-by-step explanation:

Congruent means they have the same shape and size.

Similar means they have the same shape, but not necessarily the same size.

The orientation (rotation angle) or position do not matter.

EFGH is reflected and rotated, so it maintains the same shape and size as ABCD.  Therefore, they are congruent.

PQRS is scaled and translated, so it has the same shape, but different size than ABCD.  Therefore, they are similar but not congruent.

Also, PQRS is similar to EFGH, but not congruent.

To make EFGH congruent to PQRS, we need to make it the same size.  So we need to scale EFGH by a factor of 3.

Jimmy can run 3.5 miles in 20 minutes. how far can ne run in one hour and ten minutes?
prisoha [69]

Hello There!

Before we start, I am going to divide 3.5 by 2 because then we can multiply by 7 to see how far Jimmy can run in 70 minutes.

Jimmy can run 1.75 miles in 10 minutes.

To find out how many miles he can run in 70 minutes, we just multiply 1.75 by 7 and we get a product of 12.25

Jimmy Can Run 12.25 Miles In 70 Minutes
