Answer:

Herman's final position is -3 feet relative to the ground level.

Step-by-step explanation:

As given:

Herman starts out on a rung that is 6 feet under ground ,climbs up 14 feet,then climbs down 11 feet.

The initial position is 6 feet(negative value) under ground, then up 14 feet (plus value)and down again 11 feet(negative value).

We take positive value when position is above the initial level and negative when the position is below the level.

The final position relative to ground level is:

-6+14-11

=-17+14=-3

Therefore, Herman's final position is -3 feet relative to the ground level.

Well lets try using negatives and positives, negatives for underground positives for above. -6 + 14 = 8 then 8 - 11 = -3. When Herman finally stops climbing he is 3 feet below ground level.

romanna [79]

Answer:

27.38%

Step-by-step explanation:

Deduction = $926.32 - $672.65

                  = $253.67

Percentage= $253.67 of $926.32

                  = 0.2738 X 100

                  = 27.38%

The circle graph shows how the annual budget for a company is divided by department. If the amount budgeted for Media and Sales
Tcecarenko [31]

Answer:

125,000,000

Step-by-step explanation:

In percentage,

Media + Sales = 3 + 17 = 20%

Let total budget be "t", so we can say:

20% of total budget is 25,000,000

"of" means "multiplication" and "is" means "equal to", so we can convert word equation to algebraic equation. Shown below:

20% * t = 25,000,000

20% = 20/100 = 0.2

Thus, the final equation is:

0.2t = 25,000,000

Solving for t, we get:

0.2t = 25,000,000\\t=\frac{25,000,000}{0.2}\\t=125,000,000

The total budget is (125 million) = 125,000,000
