Solve the system with the addition method: Write your answer in the form
Sidana [21]

since there is already 2 7x's we can multiply a positive 1 so we can eliminate the 7x's

+1 (-7x-4y=-7) = 7x+4y=7

7x+4y=7

-7x-2y=-4

2y=3

divide 2 on both sides to isolate y

y=2/3

now to find x you will have to plug in 2/3 to one of the original equations

-7x-2(2/3)=-4

-7x-1.33=-4

add 1.33 to both sides

-7x=2.67

divide -7 on both sides

x=0.38

hope this helped hon:)

James answered 14 items correctly on a 16-item quiz. what percent did he answer correctly?
Troyanec [42]
So,

I like to simplify a fraction first.  This is what I do when I'm in a store trying to find the unit price.

\frac{14}{16}

Factor.
\frac{2*7}{2*2*2*2}

Cross out ones.
\frac{7}{2*2*2}

Multiply it out.
\frac{7}{8}

In my head, I remember that one-eighth is equal to 0.125.

So seven-eighths is equal to 0.125 times 7.
0.125 * 7 = 0.875

Convert to percent form.
0.875 --> 87.5%

James answered 87.5% of his quiz correctly.

I actually have the decimal equivalents for eighths in my head when I'm shopping.  So once I get seven-eighths, I immediately know how much that is.  I can also subtract 0.125 from 1.000 to get seven-eighths.

What are the intercepts of the function?
snow_tiger [21]

Answer:

x-int: (-1, 0), (-11, 0)

y-int: (0, 11)

Step-by-step explanation:

To find x-int, set equation equal to 0:

x² + 12x + 11

(x + 1)(x + 11)

x = -11, -1

To find y-int, set <em>x</em> = 0

f(0) = 0² + 12(0) = 11

f(0) = 11

Plzz help ... I'm thinking it's either c or d
iren [92.7K]
Looking at the slope of the "best-fit" line, you can see that for every two hours of homework, 15 more points are scored. (compare t=0 to t=2).

For t=5, the line seems to go through 47.5. So for t=7, which is two hours more, you'd expect a score of 47.5+15 = 62.5.

That answer is in the list, so I'd choose that.

In reality, you would never be able to have any score you like just by putting more hours in, so this can never be a straight line forever...
