Explain how a person can be employed and still be living under the poverty threshold

The poverty threshold is a level that is determined by the federal government. The household poverty level is determined by the number of people who live in the home, with the poverty level rising as the number of residents increases.

Although a person may be employed, it does not mean that they have earnings about the poverty level. Being employed and having earnings above the poverty level are two separate items that are not dependent on each other.

Poverty is a worldwide problem that mainly affects underdeveloped countries, but it also occurs in developed countries such as the USA. The poverty line is a government-stimulated threshold whereby a traditional family of 4 living with a family income below $ 24,300 a year is considered poor. So imagine a family where the father and mother work, but not enough to accumulate the total of $ 24,300 per year, this family will be considered poor, because their income is below the poverty line.

NemiM [27]

Answer: Publicity

Explanation:

From the question, we are told that a small agrichemical laboratory with a very small marketing budget develops a seed that produces grass, which grows two-inches high and no higher.

Since the laboratory has a small marketing budget, the promotional element it can use to let others know about its discovery will be publicity.

Through publicity, the company can give out vital information about its new discovery. By doing this, the public will be aware of the innovation. Publicity is a marketing and promotion component.

Is the cost of equity calculated from the CAPM model, pre -tax or post-tax?
Natasha_Volkova [10]
The existence of pre-tax cost of debt and post-tax cost of debt is due to the acknoledgement of the tax benefit from issuing debt.There is no tax benefit from paying divdends,so it makes no sense talking about pre-tax,post-tax cost of equity for a firm.When you think about cash flow to equity you can only assume that the taxes owed by the company have already been paid.Now, the taxation over the income of the shareholder is a whole different issue that does not take place in this discussion,since it is not taken in consideration either in cost of equity or cost of debt.

This is your chance to calculate demand elasticities for health care. Suppose you are collecting data from a country (like Japan
sergejj [24]

Answer:

Arc price elasticity of demand = -0.273

Explanation:

This problem is solved as follows:

1. Identify the data.

                   Outpatient visit       Price / visit

Tokyo           1.25 / month                  20y

Hokkaido      1.5 / month                   10y

Outpatient visits equal the quantities demanded of the service. Therefore, we can say that:

Qt (Outpatient visits in Tokyo) = 1.25 / month

Qh (Outpatient visits in Hokkaido) = 1.5 month.

With the following prices:

Pt (Price in Tokyo) = 20y

Ph (Price in Hokkaido) = 10 y

2. Apply the formula to calculate arc-elasticity of demand:

Ep^{arc} = \frac{Pt+Ph}{Qt+Qh} *\frac{Qh-Qt}{Ph-Pt}

We replace the data:

Ep^{arc} = \frac{20+10}{1.25+1.5} *\frac{1.5-1.25}{10-20}

Ep^{arc}= \frac{30}{2.75} *\frac{0.25}{-10} = 10.91 *-0.025

Ep^{arc} = -0.27275

Final answer: -0.27275 or -0.273
