A bomb calorimeter is a device which is used to determine the change in enthalpy by measuring the change in temperature given the mass and heat capacity of the overall system by using the formula:

δh = m C (T2 – T1)

This is done by combusting the material in oxygen.

Hence the answer is:

measures δe for combustion reactions

Lakes can disappear due to?
stich3 [128]

Answer:

Lakes can vanish due to natural processes and human activity. Bacteria break down lake species' bodies and release nutrients into the water when they die. Eutrophication is the accumulation of nutrients in a lake over time. Lakes and rivers all throughout the world have dried up as a result of rising water demand and a warmer environment. Overpumping of aquifers and excessive diversion of water from rivers.

Question 4 (1 point)
Diano4ka-milaya [45]

In an endothermic reaction products are HIGHER than reactants in potential energy and LESS stable.

Explanation:

Energy is input into the reaction in an endothermic reaction. This means the products are of a higher energy level than the reactants. Therefore the reaction increases Gibb's free energy and reduces entropy. Remember in thermodynamic stability involves an increase in entropy and a decrease in Gibbs free energy. Therefore the products are less stable than the reactants. This is why endothermic reactions do not occur spontaneously like exothermic reactions.
