Answer: B. weathers

Explanation:

Sedimentary rocks are the rocks that are formed by the accumulation of small particles also called as sediments. These rocks are formed by the compaction or cementation of organic and inorganic particles coming from the animals, plant source and weathering of other parent rocks, organic particles from the oceanic floors all contributes to the formation of the sedimentary rocks.

The sedimentary rock weathers to form the sediments. These rocks can come in contact of high speed wind currents, water or any other agent which can distort or disintegrate these rocks into sediments by the process of weathering.

4.How element gold is different from oxygen?
V125BC [204]

Answer:

Gold is a metal, more specifically a transition metal, whereas Oxygen is a nonmetal, more specifically a reactive nonmetal. Using this information, you can compare and contrast metals, nonmetals, and metalloids.

Metals are:

Shiny

High melting point

Mostly silver or gray in color

Mostly solids at room temperature – Mercury (Hg) is a liquid at room temperature

Malleable – able to be hammered into a thin sheet

Ductile – able to be drawn/pulled into a wire

Good conductors of heat and electricity

Nonmetals are:

Dull

Low melting point

Brittle – break easily

Not malleable

Not ductile

Poor conductors of heat and electricity

Metalloids are:

Found on the “zig-zag” line on the Periodic Table of Elements

Have properties of both metals and nonmetals

Can be shiny or dull

Semiconductors – able to conduct electricity under certain conditions

How many atoms are in 35 grams of table salt
Slav-nsk [51]
Adopting the number of avogrado 6.02 * 10²³ / mol
Sodium chloride (table salt) Molar Mass = 58.44 g / mol
We will first have to find the number of moles in 35 grams of the element, like this:

1 mol ----------------- 58.44 g
X ---------------------- 35 g

58.44 * x = 35 * 1
58.44x = 35
X = \frac{35}{58.44}
X = 0.598904...
X ≈ 0.60 mol

Now we will find how many atoms there are in 0.60 mol of this element, like this:

1 mol -------------------- 6.02 * 10²³ atoms
0.60 mol ----------------- X

X = 0.60 * 6.02 * 10²³
\boxed{\boxed{x \approx 3.612 * 10^{23}\:atoms}}\end{array}}\qquad\quad\checkmark

Element Q has an atomic number 68. Consider the isotope Q-136 how many protons are in a neutral atom of this isotope?
mote1985 [20]

Answer: 68

Explanation:

Isotopes of an element have same number of protons but different number of neutrons. Which means isotopes of an element have same atomic number but different mass number.

Atomic number is equal to the number of protons or the number of electrons for a neutral atom and is specific to a particular element.

Mass number is the sum of number of protons and the number of neutrons.

Given : atomic number of element Q = 68 = number of protons

Mass number of isotope Q-136 = 136

But as isotopes have same atomic number, the number of protons will be same and hence there are 68 protons are in a neutral atom of this isotope.

Which solution is a homogeneous mixture? sand and water salt and water salad dressing soil
Over [174]

Answer: Option (b) is the correct answer.

Explanation:

A solution whose constituent particles are uniformly distributed in the solution is known as a homogeneous solution.

In a homogeneous solution, particles of one solute completely dissolves in the solvent. This solution is also known a true solution.

When sand and water are mixed together then after a certain interval of time sand particles will settle at the bottom. Therefore, they do not dissolve in water. So, it is not a homogeneous solution.

When salt and water are mixed together then the salt particles will dissolve in water. Therefore, it is a homogeneous solution.

Salad dressing is not a homogeneous solution as it contains different solutions like oil, lemon juice etc which does not dissolve when mixed together.

On the other hand, soil is also not a homogeneous solution because we can visualize the distinct layers present in a soil. These layers when mixed in a solution does not dissolve so they did not form a homogeneous solution.

Thus, we can conclude that out of the given options, salt and water is a homogeneous mixture.
