Answer: \frac{1}{2}

Step-by-step explanation:

Since she is rolling a standard die , a standard has 6 faces , that is

{ 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 , 6 }

And it was said that if the outcome on the die is an even number , Emma will select a red rose and if the outcome is odd she will select pink rose.

Therefore , the probability of adding a pink rose will be :

P( pink ) = number of odd number / total number

The odd numbers are : { 1 , 3 , 5 }

Therefore , P ( pink ) = 3/6 = 1/2

F(x)-mx+ b, f(-2)=3 and f(4)=1 , what is the value of m and b
NeX [460]

Answer: m=\dfrac{-1}{3}, b=\dfrac{7}{3}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Function is  f(x)=mx+b

f(-2)=3

\therefore 3=m(-2)+b\\\Rightarrow b-2m=3\quad \ldots(i)

f(4)=1\\\therefore 1=4m+b\quad \ldots(ii)

from (i) and (ii) we get

m=\dfrac{-1}{3}, b=\dfrac{7}{3}
