Hello, Leah082656. There are many heated arguments over discussing stem cell research because of these two moral principals: the duty to prevent or alleviate suffering and the duty to respect the value of human life. In order to get embryonic stem cells, the embryo has to be destroyed. Although this is a huge controversial problem, by researching this could actually save and treat many other people. Some people are for it because it saves multiple people in the process, and some do not like this because it is killing an embryo. Whatever your stance is on this debate, these are the two sides that people debate over. I hope I helped!! Have a great day. :)
1) Chordata=A chordate is an animal of the phylum Chordata. All chordates possess 5 synapomorphies, or primary characteristics, at some point during their larval or adulthood stages that distinguish them from all other taxa
2) Vertebrates=vertebrate, also called Craniata, any animal of the subphylum Vertebrata, the predominant subphylum of the phylum Chordata. The vertebrates are also characterized by a muscular system consisting primarily of bilaterally paired masses and a central nervous system partly enclosed within the backbone.
3)Invertebrates=Invertebrates are animals that neither possess nor develop a vertebral column, derived from the notochord. This includes all animals apart from the chordate subphylum Vertebrata. Familiar examples of invertebrates include arthropods, mollusks, annelid, and cnidarians.
4) Poikilothermic animals=A poikilotherm is an animal whose internal temperature varies considerably. Poikilotherms have to survive and adapt to environmental stress.
5) Homeothermic animals=The term homeothermic refers to the warm-blooded animals which have constant and relatively higher temperature. They are animals which can maintain their internal body temperature. Complete answer: Homeothermic animals are warm-blooded and maintain a constant body temperature, for example birds and mammals.
6) Oviparous= producing young by means of eggs which are hatched after they have been laid by the parent, as in birds.
7)Vivaparous=bringing forth live young which have developed inside the body of the parent
Sorry if it's incorrect
Have a nice day
Cindy collects 4 cicadas in total.
Let,
D represent the number of dragonflies
C represent the number of cicadas
S represent the number of spiders
Since the total number of insects is 20:
Equation 1
D+C+S=20
A spider has 8 legs, a dragonfly has 6 legs, and a cicada has 6 legs. Since the total number of legs is 138:
Equation 2
6D+6C+8S=138
A spider has 0 wings, a dragonfly has 4 wings, and a cicada has 2 wings. Since the total number of wings is 36:
Equation 3
4D+2C+0S=36
Multiplying equation 1 with 6 and subtracting it from equation 2:
6D+6C+8S-6(D+C+S)=138-6(20)
2S=18
S=9
Multiplying equation 1 with 4 and subtracting it from equation 3:
4D+2C+0S-4(D+C+S)=36-4(20)
-2C-4S=-44
Substituting S with 9:
-2C-4(9)=-44
-2C=-8
C=4
Thus, Cindy collects 4 cicadas in total.

Recombination reshuffles alleles of two genes that lie on the same chromosome type, whereas independent assortment reshuffles alleles of two genes that lie on different chromosome types.
Explanation:
Alleles are two forms of same gene, they are located on the same loci of the homologous pair.
Recombination occurs when alleles from two homologous chromosomes get reshuffled during crossing over in meiosis.
Independent assortment refers to the tendency of alleles to be inherited independently from one generation to other.
The cytoplasm splits in two and the cell divides
