CaCl_{2} dissolves in water to give Ca^{2+} and Cl^{-} ions according to the following reaction:

CaCl_{2}  -------->  Ca^{2+}  + 2Cl^{-}

So, according to the above reaction, 1 mole of CaCl_{2} produce 2 moles of Cl^{-} ion,

So, 0.3 mole will give = 0.3 x 2 = 0.6 moles of  Cl^{-} ion

So, Molar concentration = \frac{0.6moles}{1L} = 0.6

Note: 1L = 1000mL

In the single displacement reaction of HCl and magnesium, how many grams of magnesium chloride would be produced if 1.05g of mag
iren [92.7K]

Answer:

4.16g of MgCl2

Explanation:

First, let us generate a balanced equation for the reaction:

Mg + 2HCl —> MgCl2 + H2

Molar Mass of Mg = 24g/mol

Molar Mass of MgCl2 = 24 + (2x35.5) = 24 + 71 = 95g

From the equation,

24g of Mg produced 95g of MgCl2.

Therefore, 1.05g of Mg will produce = (1.05x95)/24 = 4.16g of MgCl2

A balloon under 14.7 atm of pressure at 273K gets left in a car in Florida and the temperature increases to 303K. What is the ne
Firdavs [7]

Answer:

The new pressure in the balloon is 16.3 atm

Explanation:

Gay-Lussac's law establishes the relationship between the temperature and the pressure of a gas when the volume is constant.

This law establishes that pressure and temperature are directly proportional quantities, that is to say that if the temperature increases the pressure increases and if the temperature decreases the pressure decreases.

Mathematically, Gay-Lussac's law states that, when a gas undergoes a constant volume transformation, the quotient of the pressure exerted by the gas temperature remains constant:

\frac{P}{T}=k

When you want to study two different states, an initial one and a final one, of a gas, you can use the expression:

\frac{P1}{T1}=\frac{P2}{T2}

In this case:

  • P1= 14.7 atm
  • T1= 273 K
  • P2= ?
  • T2= 303 K

Replacing:

\frac{14.7 atm}{273 K}=\frac{P2}{303 K}

Solving:

P2=303K*\frac{14.7 atm}{273 K}

P2= 16.3 atm

<u><em>The new pressure in the balloon is 16.3 atm</em></u>

Critique you overhear someone say,I'm going to nuke it when referring to cooking food in a microwave oven. Explain why this term
Neporo4naja [7]
When the person said"nuke it" they are not referring to what they are going to nuke. That is why it is incorrect.
