Plugging in 0 doesn't work so you can automatically rule out option D.

Plugging in 1 is an easy one. 5.6 + 0.4(1) is 5.6 + 0.4 = 6. 6(1) is also 6. This rules out option A.

Now all we have to do is plug in 0.875 to see if it works. If it does, option C is the answer. If not, well... only leaves option B.

5.6 + 0.4(0.875) = 5.6 + 0.35 = 5.95

6(0.875) = 5.25

So 0.875 does not make the statement true.

Your answer is Option B.

ILL MARK BRAINIEST IF YOU CAN DO THIS RIGHT!!!
Bumek [7]

Answer:  Slope: -1/2

Step-by-step explanation:  To find slope take 2 points that lie on the line and use this formula to solve:  <em> </em>I will use (0, -2) and (2, -3) to solve

                                                                       ↑    ↑           ↑   ↑

y2 - y1                                                             x1  y1          x2  y2

-----------

x2 - x1

So, for this question, substitute the x and y values from the points above to solve.

-3 - (-2)

----------- =  - 1/2

2 - 0

Hope this helped. :)

Find the value of 11 +22+33 + ... + 1100.
ella [17]

Answer:

sum of terms: 55550

Explanation:

\sf S_n = \dfrac{n}{2} (u_{start}+u_{end}})

Here the number of terms:

1100 ÷ 11 = 100

Using the Formula:

\sf \dfrac{100}{2} (11+1100)

\sf 55550

Explicit and Recursive Functions:
aleksandr82 [10.1K]
In this problem we need to find the value of a and b. So given that t<span>he function should be in the form f(n) = an + b and we know each value of n, then out goal is to find a and b.

For getting this purpose, we need to find a system of two equations (given that we have two unknown variables)

Therefore:

(1) f(0) = a(1) + b = 18
</span>∴ a + b = 18
<span>
(2) f(1) = a(2) + b = 24
</span>∴ 2a + b = 24<span>

Solving for a and b we have:

a = 6
b = 12

Finally:

f(n) = 6n + 12</span>

5. A monument casts a 78 ft. shadow at the same time that a vertical yardstick casts a 4.5 ft. shadow. How high is the monument?
rodikova [14]

Hello,

Using Thalès 's theorem:

Let's h the height of the monument.

\dfrac{1}{h} =\dfrac{4.5}{78} \\\\h=\dfrac{78}{4.5} =\dfrac{156}{9} \approx{17.3\ (ft)}

If you don't know what is the Thalès's theorem,

imagine that the similar triangles.
