Answer:The final volume of nitrogen gas will be 13 L. Nitrogen gas was collected in the plastic bag.

Explanation:

Volume of the storage cylinder:

Volume of the cylinder = \pi r^2h

Diameter of the cylinder (d)= 6.6 cm

So, radius of the cylinder =\frac{d}{2}=\frac{6.6}{2}=3.3cm

Height of the cylinder = 26 cm

Volume of the cylinder==V_1=\pi r^2h=3.14\times (3.3cm)^2\times 26cm=889.05 cm^3=889.05\times 10{-3} L(1cm^3=10^{-3}L)

Pressure of the N_2 gas in a cylinder =P_1= 14.9 atm

The cylinder is opened and the gas allowed to escape into a large empty plastic bag. So, now the value of the pressureP_2 will become equal to atmospheric pressure that 1 atm .

Volume of N_2 gas in plastic bag V_2 will be given by the expression of Boyle's law

P_1V_1=P_2V_2

On substituting the values:

14.9\times 889.05\times 10^{-3} L= 1atm \times V_2=

V_2=13.24 L

The final volume of nitrogen gas will be 13.24 L when rounded of to two significant figures will be 13 L. Nitrogen gas was collected in the plastic bag.

The ionic equation for MgCl2 and KOH.
saw5 [17]
The reaction of Mg Cl2 and KOH can be described as a double substitution type of reaction. This means the cations of the reactants are exchanged in places when the products are formed. In this case, the balanced reaction is expressed
MgCl2 (s) + 2KOH (aq) = Mhg (OH)2 (aq) + 2KCl (s)

If the vapor's volume were to be incorrectly recorded as 125ml, how will this error affect the calculated molar mass of the unkn
pishuonlain [190]
Since you didn't give the actual volume (or any of the experimental values) I can only tell you how to do it. Do the calculation using the real (determined) volume of the flask. Then, re-do the calculation with v = 125ml. Take the two values and calculate % error; m = measured vol; g = guessed vol.

<span>[mW (m) - mW (g)]/mW (m) x 100% </span>

<span>(they want % error so, if it is negative, just get rid of the sign) </span>

For Na2HPO4:(( (Note that for H3PO4, ka1= 6.9x10-3, ka2 = 6.4x10-8, ka3 = 4.8x10-13 ) a) The active anion is H2PO4- b) The activ

Check the explanation

Explanation:

Answer – Given, H_3PO_4 acid and there are three Ka values

K_{a1}=6.9x10^8, K_{a2} = 6.2X10^8, and K_{a3}=4.8X10^{13}

The transformation of H_2PO_4- (aq) to HPO_4^2-(aq)is the second dissociation, so we need to use the Ka2 = 6.2x10-8 in the Henderson-Hasselbalch equation.

Mass of KH2PO4 = 22.0 g , mass of Na2HPO4 = 32.0 g , volume = 1.00 L

First we need to calculate moles of each

Moles of KH2PO4 = 22.0 g / 136.08 g.mol-1

                             = 0.162 moles

Moles of Na2HPO4 = 32.0 g /141.96 g.mol-1

                             = 0.225 moles

[H2PO4-] = 0.162 moles / 1.00 L = 0.162 M

[HPO42-] = 0.225 moles / 1.00 L = 0.225 M

Now we need to calculate the pKa2

pKa2 = -log Ka

       = -log 6.2x10-8

       = 7.21

We know Henderson-Hasselbalch equation

pH = pKa + log [conjugate base] / [acid]

pH = 7.21 + log 0.225 / 0.162

     = 7.35

The pH of a buffer solution obtained by dissolving 22.0 g of KH2PO4 and 32.0 g of Na2HPO4 in water and then diluting to 1.00 L is 7.35
