Answer:

Option B. 120

Step-by-step explanation:

The freshman class has students = 160

Total number of novels = 10

As, each freshman must write 3 reports , means selecting 3 novels out of 10 novels.

Here, order of choosing novels is not important.

So, we will apply rule of combinatorics here.

Selecting 3 novels out of 10 novels , is different combinations of novels that a freshman student  can choose to write reports on is given by

\frac{10}{3}C

= \frac{10!}{(10-3)!3!}

= \frac{10!}{(7!)(3!)}

= \frac{3628800}{(7!)(3!)}

= \frac{3628800}{(5040)(6)}

= \frac{3628800}{30240}

= 120

Option B 120 different combinations of novels can a freshman student choose to write reports.

2(b+3c) equivalent expressions<br>Options: <br><br>3(b+2c)<br>(b+3c) +(b+3c)<br>None of the above
Lana71 [14]
2(b + 3c) → We first need to simplify this.

Simplify.

2b + 6c

1st Option :

3(b + 2c)

Simplify.

3b + 6c

This is INCORRECT, as it is not equal to 2b + 6c.

2nd Option :

(b + 3c) + (b + 3c)

Simplify.

2b + 6c

This is CORRECT because 2b+6c = 2b+6c

(b + 3c) + (b + 3c)  → Answer
