The mere exposure effect is a psychological occurence whereby people tend to develop a liking or preference for things merely because they are familiar with them. it implies that we tend to like things more when they’re familiar to us. It is also called the familiarity principle, because it’s built on the establishment of familiarity. In the case of Mark and Andrew, it is obvious that mark has become fond of andrew due to the fact that he has become so farmiliar with him based on the fact that they have gone to different places a couple of times resulting into likeness.
