Let x be the number of adult tickets and y be the number of student tickets.

From the first sentence we can set up both equations:

1) x + y = 48
2) 7x + 3y = 220

Rearrange #1 to isolate x:
x = 48 - y

Sub that into #2 and solve for y to get your answer:
7(48 - y) + 3y = 220
336 - 7y + 3y = 220
-4y = -116
y = 29

29 student tickets were sold.

Answer:

Length of the room is   180 ft

Step-by-step explanation:

We have a rectangular room with dimensions:

width  =  70  ft       and  length    "x" (unknown)

Perimeter of a rectangle   is   2*w  +  2*x    and according to problem statement 500 ft of lights will fit exactly in room perimeter then:

2*70  +  2*x   =  500

140  + 2*x  =  500

2*x  =  500 - 140

2*x  = 360

x  = 360/2

x  =  180  ft

13 weeks is what percent of 52 weeks
Aleonysh [2.5K]
To get a number as a percent of another, you divide and multiply by 100, so here you would have (13/52)*100=.25*100=25, making your answer 25%.
