To find the median you should put the numbers in order then see which number is in the middle and that's your median

For the mean you should add all the numbers then divided by 7 because u have 7 numbers on the problem

Kazeer [188]

Answer:

408 bags of dog food

Step-by-step explanation:

The question asks for the total bags of dog food. Because they give you two existing values expressing how much dog food of each type there is, all you must do is add them together. 145 + 263 = 408

The table shows the height of a plant as it grows. Which equation in point slope form gives the plant’s height at any time
vodka [1.7K]

Answer:

Option A is correct.

y-16=8(x-2) is the equation represent the point slope form gives the plant's height at any time.

Step-by-step explanation:

Point slope intercept form: For any two points (x_1, y_1) and  (x_2, y_2) then,

the general form

y-y_1=m(x-x_1) for linear equations;  where m is the slope given by:

m =\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}

Consider any two points from the table;

let A= (2 , 16) and B =(4, 32)

First calculate the slope of the line AB:

m =\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}=\frac{32-16}{4-2}=\frac{16}{2} = 8

Therefore, slope of the line m = 8

Then,

the equation of line is:

y-y_1=m(x-x_1)

Substitute the value of m=8 and (2, 16) above we get;

y-16=8(x-2)

Therefore, the equation in point slope form which gives the plant's height at any time is; y-16=8(x-2) , where x is the time(months) and y is the plant height (cm)

Find the nature of the root
GREYUIT [131]

Answer:

1) Real and same.

2) Real and distinct

3) Real and distinct

4) Real and distinct

5) Real and distinct

6) Real and distinct

7) Real and distinct

8) Real and distinct

Step-by-step explanation:

If a quadratic equation is in the form of ax² + bx + c = 0, then Discriminant of the equation D = b² - 4ac, which governs the nature of roots the equation has.

If D > 0, then there will be two different real roots.

If D = 0, then two same and real roots.

If D < 0, then two distinct but imaginary roots.

Now, 1) x² + 6x + 9 = 0 has D = 6² - 4 × 9 × 1 = 0. So, there will be two same and real roots.

2) 5x² - x = 4x² + 2

⇒ x² - x - 2 = 0

It has D = (-1)² - 4 × 1 × (-2) = 9. Therefore, the roots will be two distinct and real.

3) \frac{2}{x} + \frac{3}{x} = x - 4

⇒ 5 = x² - 4x

⇒ x² - 4x - 5 = 0.

So, D = (-4)² - 4 × (1) × (- 5) = 36. So, the equation has two real and distinct rools.

4) x(x - 5) = 4(5 - x)

⇒ x² - x - 20 = 0

Hence, D = (-1)² - 4 × 1 × (-20) = 81

So, the roots will be real and distinct.

5) x² + 7x + 1 = 0 has D = 7² - 4 × 1 × 1 = 45

So, the roots will be real and distinct.

6) 2x² + 9x + 3 = 0, has D = 9² - 4 × 2 × 3 = 57.

Hence, the roots will be real and distinct.

7) 5x² - 6 = 13x

⇒ 5x² - 13x - 6 = 0

So, D = (-13)² - 4 × 5 × (-6) = 289

So, the roots will be real and distinct.

8) x² - x = 3(x + 7)

⇒ x² - 4x - 21 = 0

It has D = (-4)² - 4 × 1 × (-21) = 100

So, the roots will be real and distinct. (Answer)

can someone please help me find the surface area of the pyramid with an equilateral triangle for a base
ioda

To obtain the total surface we have to calculate the surface of the 4 triangles and add up the areas (remember that the area of a triangle is (b*h)/2 , b is the base, h is the height ).

We will caculate first the area of the base triangle for that we considerer the fact that it is an equilateral triangle with sides of lenght 6 cm, now we calculate the height, I am going to draw please wait a moment

using the pythagorean theorem we have that

\begin{gathered} h^2=6^2cm^2-3^2\operatorname{cm}=27cm^2 \\ h=\text{ }\sqrt[]{27\text{ }}cm \end{gathered}

Then, the area of the triangle is 6*h/2 = 3h = 15.59 cm^2.

Now we calculate the area of the other 3 triangles, notice that those triangles have the same base and height so we will calculate for one of them and multiply by 3. From the image we know that the height is 15cm and the base is 6 cm so the area is 45cm^2, and 45*3 cm^2 = 135cm^2.

Finally we add up all the areas:

135cm^2+15.59cm^2=150.59cm^2
