"Understand the problem" might rightly consist of
• Perform this step first
• Identify what you are being asked to solve or find.
• Identify the important words or numbers in the problem
• Identify any instructions that you are supposed to follow
_____
One of my professors always insisted we start the solution of any problem by writing down what was Given, and what we had to Find, using those headers for the sections of the paper we turned in. Only after those were listed were we allowed to write the Solution. Solution papers that didn't have that format were tossed in the trash, and no credit was given. Harsh, but effective.
You can divide 8 and 74 by 2 to get 4/37. Since 37 can't be reduced anymore, 4/37 is your answer.
The answer is 4/37.
Answer:
36
Step-by-step explanation:
Answer:
32/5
Step-by-step explanation:
K=Keep the first Fraction (You can rewrite 8 as 8/1 for when you multiply across.)
C=Change the Division Sign to a Multiplication Sign
F=Flip the Second Fraction
First, rewrite 1 1/4 as 5/4 (A mixed number can be changed to a fraction by multiplying the outside whole number by the denominator or bottom number of the fraction, then add the new rewritten whole number and the original fractional piece. In this case you would multiply the outside 1 by the bottom 4 and add it to the original 1/4. 4/4+1/4=5/4)
Second, Flip 5/4 to 4/5 and change your equation so it now reads: 8/1 x 4/5
Third, use simple fraction multiplication and multiply across to get 8/1 x 4/5=32/5
A sequence can be generated by using an=4an−1 where a1=6 (a) 6, 20, 76, 300 (b)6, 24, 96, 384 (c)6, 10, 14, 18 (d) 6, 20, 100, 5

- Option (b) 6, 24, 96, 384
Explanation:
The complete question is:
A sequence can be generated by using
where
and n is a whole number greater than 1. What are the first four terms in the sequence.
The given rule
is a recursive formula, which means that to find any term consecutive term, from the second one, you multiply the current term by 4.
Thus:
![a_1=6\\ \\ a_2=4a_1=4\times 6=24\\\\ a_3=4a_2=4\times 24=96\\ \\ a_4=4a_3=4\times 96=384](https://tex.z-dn.net/?f=a_1%3D6%5C%5C%20%5C%5C%20a_2%3D4a_1%3D4%5Ctimes%206%3D24%5C%5C%5C%5C%20a_3%3D4a_2%3D4%5Ctimes%2024%3D96%5C%5C%20%5C%5C%20a_4%3D4a_3%3D4%5Ctimes%2096%3D384)
