Life on a farm in the 1800s was not easy. ... Around the middle part of the 1800s, most farmers in the Midwest lived in single room log cabins. Injuries were very common while farming with these tools. Though these injuries occured, at least the soil was very rich and full of nutrients.

Well Britain and France took massive loans from the United States for war supplies. Also the fighting was taking place on French soil which destroyed all the farms and all the farms were fighting the Germans which meant that American farms where needed to grow more crops faster which meant they took out loans and used them to buy tractors to help feed the French and little bit to Britain and also Belgium.
