Anna [14]
Hello,
so all you have to do is match the abbreviations to the triangles. The abbreviations stand for what is the SAME in both triangles, denoted by similar markings on equal sides and angles.

Abbreviations:
SSS = Side-Side-Side
SAS = Side-Angle-Side
ASA = Angle-Side-Angle
AAS = Angle-Angle-Side
HL = Hypotenuse-Leg

* Note - the angle side angle must go around the triangle in that order. ASA has the side BETWEEN the congruent angles.. SSA does NOT work.

(9.) ASA
(10.) AAS
(11.) SSS
(12.) No way to tell if congruent. (only 3 angles no side)
(13.) ASA
(14.) SAS
(15.) HL

Piper claims that 3(2a + 2) is equivalent to 5a + 6. She checks her claim by substituting -3 for a. Is Piper's claim correct? Wh
Paha777 [63]

Answer:

Piper's claim is not correct.

Step-by-step explanation:

3(2(-3)+2) = 5(-3)+6

3(-6+2) = -15 + 16

-18 + 6 = 1

-12 = 1

180 miles in 3 hours, what's the unit rate?
Oliga [24]

Answer:

60 or 60:1

Step-by-step explanation:

You will have to divide 180 by 3 which is 60 or you can divide 160 / 3 = 60 & divide 3 / 3 = 1.

Jack is 13 years younger than his older brother, Tyler. Their Dad is twice Tyler's age. The sum of their ages now is 91. Find Ja
grin007 [14]

Answer:

13 years old

Step-by-step explanation:

So to solve this we use a system of equations. Let's use "j" to represent Jack, "t" to represent Tyler, and "d" to represent the dad. Set the system up and it will look something like this:

j = t - 13 (Jack is 13 years younger than Tyler)

d = 2t (Dad is twice Tyler's age)

d + j + t = 91 (The sum of the ages is 91)

And then solve, I solved by isolating the "j" variable on the last equation, giving us j = 91 - t - d, then plugged that into the first equation, giving us 91 - t - d = t - 13, and got d = 104 - 2t. Then I plug that into d = 2t, giving us 104 - 2t = 2t, and solve for t. T is 26, meaning Tyler is 26 years old, and then I just subtract 13 from that, giving us 13 years old.

And finally, I obviously checked my answer, because now we know dad is 52, and I got 91.
