Why does amylase from saliva stop working in the stomach? what other organ produces amylase?
Novosadov [1.4K]
Amylase is an enzyme, which are protein molecules that help in the breakdown of complex substances. Enzymes have optimum conditions in which they operate, which also include specific pH ranges. The pH in the stomach is too low for amylase to work in, so amylase is denatured and does not perform its function in the stomach.

The other organ producing amylase is the pancreas.

natka813 [3]
D- they were not treated for or told they had syphillis. Instead, researchers told the men that they were receiving free treatment for what they called “bad blood”. Around this time, penicillin was found to be a decent method of treatment for syphillis, but researchers instead treated the men with ointments and other methods that didn’t work.
