What is universal theme?

Universal theme is a motif that can apply to anyone and everyone regardless of ethnicity, nationality, age, and status.

Knowing this, we can easily conclude that universal theme is: a theme that speaks broadly to human experiences. Now some might debate that choice C is correct, however please note that choice C explicitly states that a theme can only be applied to members of a "certain culture." That is a fallacy. Universal theme applies to all humans and human experiences, not just for a select group.

bezimeni [28]
"I am buried in homework", he told his friends. "I might suffocate under an avalanche of paper and books." The literary device that is used in this statement is Hyperbole. Hyperbole is a figure of speech or literary device that overstates or exaggerates a statement for emphasis or to make a point, but does not have to be taken literally. Hyperbole is a Greek word that means "excess".

Read the excerpt from “On Women’s Right to Vote,” an 1873 speech by Susan B. Anthony.
Serga [27]

Answer:

And when . . . people enter into a free government, they do not barter away their natural rights; they simply pledge themselves to protect each other in the enjoyment of them, through prescribed judicial and legislative tribunals.

Explanation:

An ellipsis is a set of dots (…) that show the omission of superfluous words or that could be inferred from contextual clues.

Only the second option applies it correctly because it only omits "100 or 1,000,000", which is information superfluous to the main idea of the speech.

The other options omit information that is crucial for a complete understanding of the excerpt.
