It would cost a dollar and fifty cents for three pounds. Figure half of twelve is 6, and half of 6 is three. So, six pounds for three dollars. Half of six is three, and half of 3 is 1.5 
So 3 pounds for a dollar fifty

(but in reality, 12 lbs of apples for 6 dollars is cheap lol)
