Answer:

9 squares could be made.

Step-by-step explanation:

 • The 1st square is made with the help of 4 sticks, the 2nd square will be made with the help of 3 sticks as one of the side will share the stick with the 1st square, similar is for the 3rd square.
 • The 4th square will lie below first and will require 3 sticks. and the 5th square will lie below the 2nd and attached to the 4th and requires 2 sticks and 6th will be attached to 5th and is below 3rd and hence require 2 sticks.
 • The 7th square will lie below 4th and require 3 sticks, 8th will be attached to 7th and lie below 5th and require 2 sticks and the last 9th square will lie below 6th and attached to 8th and hence requires 2 sticks.

Hence, total number of sticks required=4+3+3+3+2+2+3+2+2=24

we could also see it by figure.

Hence with the help of 24 sticks "9 squares" could be obtained and 2 sticks will be left over.

A square has four sides, so divide 26 by 4, which is 6.5. Since they are asking for how many whole squares, Martin can make 6 squares out of the 26 sticks.

Olve the two-step equation and identify the steps.

2 = − 7
4
+ 1
4
x
saul85 [17]

Answer:

x = 5.142

Step-by-step explanation:

2=-74+14x

if you want to make x the subject (work out its value), you need to single out x

1) the first thing that we can do is get rid of the -74

2) do this by adding it on to both sides of the equation. This is called the inverse

2+-74=-72 -74+14x=14x

-72=14x

3) to get x on its own, we now need to get rid of the 14

REMEMBER: 14x = 14×x

4) We do the inverse by dividing both sides by 14

-72÷14=-5.142...

its surprising that its not an integer

5.142=x

x=5.142

PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF THIS IS CORRECT
