The greater the number of other people present, the smaller in each individual's personal obligation to intervene. This statement best describes bystander effect.

<u>Explanation: </u>

The bystander effect is a psychological effect which restricts the mindset of individuals to help victim when the victim gets victimised in presence of large amount of people.

In this mindset, an individual will think the other person will go forward to help the victim and some individual may also have mindset to not to come in the forefront.

The factors like ambiguity, inability to express oneself in presence of group, group cohesiveness which means same as diffusion of responsibility. The individual will feel less personal obligation to intervene the unfair thing acting upon the victim.

is the light transmitted by a filter brighter than, less brighter than, or the same brightness as the light that hits it? explai
vichka [17]

The light transmitted by a filter is <em>less bright </em>than the light that hits it.

A filter only absorbs/removes part of the light that hits it.  That means it removes some energy from the incident light.  The remaining light carries less energy, so it must be less bright.

A company designed and sells an ultrasonic receiver, which detects sounds unable to be heard by the human ear. The receiver can
Kruka [31]

Answer:

the diameter of the outside edge of the receiver is 8\sqrt{18} \ \ \ inches

Explanation:

From the schematic free body diagram illustrating what the question is all about below;

Let represent A to be the vertex where the receiver is being placed

S to be the focus

BP to be equal to r (i.e radius of the outer edge)

BC to be 2 r   (i.e the diameter)

Given that AS = 4 in and AP is 18 in

Let AP be x- axis and AY be y -axis

A=(0,0)

S=(4,0) = (0,0)

So that the equation of the parabolic path of the receiver will be:

y^2 =4 ax  \\ \\ y^2 = 4*4*x \\ \\ y^2 = 16x

B = (AP, BP)

B = (18, r)

B lies  y² = 16 x

r² = 16 x

r² 16 × 18

r = \sqrt{16*18 } \\ \\ r = 4\sqrt{18}

Diameter BC = 2r

2* 4\sqrt{18} \\ \\= 8\sqrt{18 }  \ \ \ inches

Determine the energy required to accelerate an electron from (a) 0.500c to 0.900c and (b) 0.900c to 0.990c
Lera25 [3.4K]

Answer:

0.582 MeV

2.45 MeV

Explanation:

E_r=0.511\ MeV=Electron rest energy

(a) 0.500c to 0.900c

W=\left(\frac{1}{\sqrt{1-\frac{v_f^2}{c^2}}}-\frac{1}{\sqrt{1-\frac{v_i^2}{c^2}}}\right)E_r\\\Rightarrow W=\left(\frac{1}{\sqrt{1-0.9^2}}-\frac{1}{\sqrt{1-0.5^2}}\right)0.511\\\Rightarrow W=0.582\ MeV

Energy required is 0.582 MeV

(b) 0.900c to 0.990c

W=\left(\frac{1}{\sqrt{1-\frac{v_f^2}{c^2}}}-\frac{1}{\sqrt{1-\frac{v_i^2}{c^2}}}\right)E_r\\\Rightarrow W=\left(\frac{1}{\sqrt{1-0.99^2}}-\frac{1}{\sqrt{1-0.9^2}}\right)0.511\\\Rightarrow W=2.45\ MeV

Energy required is 2.45 MeV

Of all the planets, which is the most different from the others? Explain.
Alenkinab [10]

Answer: VENUS

Explanation:
